Bowls and Bricolage by Frank Beurskens

A collection of lathe-turned bowls from a variety of materials and other assorted creations of a bricoleur (someone who invents his or her own strategies for using existing materials in a creative, resourceful, and original way)

Works on view through Dec. 14.

Artists Statement:  Every tree is unique.  Species, age,
and stresses of nature all contribute to final color and pattern.
Every bowl is unique.  The artist's task and joy is to free the
shape confined in the wood.  I seek simplicity in form,
complementing natural features....and on occasion, look around
the studio to discover a misplaced board or a street-side find,
throw in a crazy thought or a friendly request, and see what happens.
Joy is studio time.
